Mean Streets
Time and again, traffic has been the single greatest area of concern expressed by Hamlet residents to the Council. This special meeting, rescheduled from the winter, will take place just as spring is arriving and pedestrian traffic on our streets – notably from Rhinecliff’s younger citizens – is increasing, and with it the danger of a tragic accident. Kathy Kinsella, Town Highway Superintendent, and Sergeant Pete Dunn of the Rhinebeck Police Department will be on hand to discuss the situation and explore ways of addressing it.
Rhinecliff Hamlet Advisory Council Meeting, Feb 12

Town Board Workshop Meeting on SGEIS to the Comp Plan
Tonight at Rhinebeck Village Hall the Town Board will hold a workshop session to discuss the draft scope and cost of a Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement (SGEIS) to the Comp Plan. This workshop will begin at approximately 7:30 pm, immediately following an Executive Session.
The Rhinecliff Hamlet Advisory Council has submitted a statement on this SGEIS (click on attachment at bottom of this post), as have about 40 other area residents and organizations. This session may or may not include an opportunity for public comment.
Rhinecliff residents are nevertheless encouraged to attend if possible, as turnout will remind the Board of the intense interest in the Hamlet on the subjects of the proposed 200 units of senior housing at Holy Cross, and the proposed 49-unit Hamlet Extension on the north side of Rhinecliff.
Rhinecliff Hamlet Advisory Council Important Meeting December 11th
DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE RHINECLIFF ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THIS EVENING HAS BEEN CANCELED.
The following is a message from the Rhinecliff Advisory Council regarding the next meeting on Thursday December 11th.
"The council is inviting as many hamlet residents as possible to our first traffic/safety meeting. The meeting will be held at the Morton Library Community Library at 6:30 pm. We are encouraging those families with children who usually can't make these meetings to bring their children along. We will make sure there is a movie or some special activities to keep them busy. We are hoping to bring the community together on improving our streets for our safety and enjoyment. We will be handing out a questionnaire at our meeting asking you to point out the particular traffic/safety issues that most concern you whether it be an issues on your block or general issues for the hamlet. Please tell your neighbors about this.
We are also working on putting up our own website! We are trying to reach as many neighbors as possible and are trying to collect e-mail addresses. At the moment we have around 25. These addresses were culled from our attendance sheets at our meetings. Hopefully we can improve that."
