Message from the Morton Memorial Library and Community House

To Our Community and Visitors:                                   August 21, 2007

Morton Memorial Library and Community House has finally completed the necessary plans to implement the construction of a handicapped accessible ramp to the main floor of our facility in the heart of the hamlet of Rhinecliff.  This project is being partially funded by Community Block Grant funds that are derived from Federal tax dollars, and administered through our Town and County.

During working hours, the construction and workers’ vehicles will take up much of the available space in front of the building until Thanksgiving.  We apologize in advance for this inconvenience and for any construction noise and activity that may affect the neighbors.

This project has been designed to retain the historic beauty of our building as it serves the needs of our disabled and elderly patrons.  Our building usage continues to grow.  We hope that this updating of our facility will make our public library and its programs available to everyone.

We expect no interruption to our services during this time.  We very much appreciate your patience and understanding as we embark on this important project.

Sincerely,

Mildred Z. Young
Chair of Buildings and Grounds Committee
