Dutchess County Department of Planning and Development is holding a crucial public hearing on proposed changes to our county's LOOP bus system (including dropping many routes, unfortunately)-- Weds. Jan. 7th 7 pm at the Farm and Home Center on Rt. 44 in Millbrook

Rhinecliff Traffic Study
In April, 2003, The Rhinecliff Safe Traffic Committee submitted a petition to the Rhinebeck Town Board regarding traffic safety on Kelly Street. The Committee re-submitted this petition in 2005.
The Committee commissioned Chazen Engineering & Land Surveying Company to evaluate traffic on Rhinecliff’s Kelly Street. The company found nine locations of non-compliance for stopping sight distance. The evaluation also found “difficult pedestrian travel” and “no pedestrian travel ways” along Kelly Street.
The Committee made recommendations to the Town Board.

The Dutchess County LOOP Bus system cannot assume responsibility for delays or failure to make connections caused by vehicular traffic, weather conditions, mechanical failure, shortages of manpower or equipment. Bus schedules, equipment and fares are subject to change without notice. The times on the schedules are time points and the bus will stop if hailed anywhere along the route that is safe to pull over. The buses do not stop at throughfares or intersections where cars are making right-hand turns. Our fare is $1.75 per zone and customers can pay when boarding the bus. (Drivers cannot make change, exact fare is required.)
