Vote for the school budget

We recently received the revised Rhinebeck Central School District proposed budget. As many of you know, the school budget did not pass. This is the first time in 10 years. It is one of the very few school budgets to not pass in the entire Hudson Valley. Please vote yes on June 20th at Bulkeley Middle School in the cafeteria between 2 and 9 p.m.

What is not clear to most residents is that the revised budget results in a tax increase of $60 per year for a house assessed at $300,000. That's all!
Many are concerned about increased taxes for lower income families and for the elderly. This tax issue should be addressed in other ways. Many school programs will be jeapordized or elimated, quality teachers will be discouraged from working here, etc., etc.
For weekenders. empty nesters and the dispassionate this revised budget is the difference between sports programs, drama clubs, special education tuiton...the list goes on - or not. Please vote in consideration of your neighbors and for your future neighbors.
