Lack of Leadership
So here it is. The town is stuck. They are forced to find a "home" for the problems created by the units lost in the down-zoning east of town and Rhinecliff "is only 500 or so people vs. the thousands in the rest of town" so we should eat crow.
This kind of planning is ridiculous. The hamlet and its surrounding landowners have already made numerous compromises to meet the larger communities need for more density and special housing. We in the National Historic Landmark district are not losing so many units that we would require a TND to avoid litigation. That problem is created elsewhere in town.
If we are not represented by our elected leaders, if the interested of the Hamlet, the estate owners, and the National history are not being represented by our leaders serious change is required.
