Rhinecliff Fire Co Annual Halloween Party
Planned Friday, October 30, 2009

On Friday, October 30, The Rhinecliff Volunteer Fire Company, Rescue Squad and Ladies Auxiliary will present its Annual Halloween Party to be held at the Rhinecliff Firehouse.
Each year the party entertains between 80 and 100 kids, 12 years of age and under. The Ladies Auxiliary are the official sponsors of the event with financial assistance from the Fire Company and Rescue Squad. Local girl scout troops run a variety of games that are played concurrently throughout the evening. This year, Junior Girl Scout Troop 279 under the leadership of Darlene Berhens will host the games with preparation help from students from the Rhinebeck H.S.
Games will begin at 6pm ranging from Pin the Spider on the Witch and Bat Races to Bottle Bowling and Blow the Ghost. Storytelling has become a featured part of the party. At 7:30pm, the hall will turn into a storytelling parlor. This year, Rhinecliff's Postmaster, Steven Thorbjornseng, will weave a tale of a haunted hamlet.
Says Bernie Fitzpatrick, president of the Rhinecliff Ladies Auxiliary, The Rhinecliff Ladies Auxiliary has been throwing a Halloween party for as long as I can remember. Its a party where the kids can run around freely, be safe and their parents can get to know one another. Its one of the perks of living in a small town and we hope parents will small children will take advantage of it."

The event will be on Friday, October 30, from 6 - 8pm at the Rhinecliff Firehouse on the corner of Shatzell and Orchard Streets in Rhinecliff. Games are geared to children ages 12 and under, although everyone is welcome. Admission is free and costumes are the recommended decor. Volunteers are always welcome, call organizer, Cynthia Baer at (845) 876-5738.
