Join the Winnakee Land Trust, Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, the Rhinebeck CAC, the Red Hook CAC, and the Stream Alliance of Northern Dutchess to learn more about streams, their watersheds, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
Throughout the day, there will be GPS Scavenger Hunts where youth and their families can learn about the wonderful habitats located at the Thompson-Mazzarella Park while also learning how to use a GPS unit. There will also be Stream Explorations for youth that will allow them to investigate and learn more about the “bugs”, or macroinvertebrates, that live in streams, while also studying the physical and chemical aspects of a stream.
Informational displays and crafts will also be set up for participants to learn more about their local watersheds and how to protect them. Registration is required for the GPS Scavenger Hunt and Stream Explorations.

Morton Memorial Library presents Picturing America
July 23 – August 4, 2009
Opening: Friday, July 24, 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
This exhibit will feature the Picturing America collection. Picturing America is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) conducted in cooperation with the American Library Association (ALA) that brings significant works of American art into thousands of communities across the country. Morton Memorial Library was one of more than 3,600 public libraries and 56,000 sites across the country selected to receive 40 high-quality reproductions of great American art.

Rachel Grasso’s program takes listeners on a musical journey from swing and jazz to Broadway and Disney. Lawn seating.
