The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will conduct community
outreach sessions about Energy Star Products at Williams Lumber locations this month.

Steve LeFever, a local representative of New York State Energy Research and Development
Authority, will be on hand at 10 a.m. Oct. 25 and Nov. 8 at the Hopewell Junction location as
well as 10 a.m. Nov. 1 at the Rhinebeck store to discuss ways of saving energy in your home.

He will hand out complimentary packages containing a compact fluorescent light bulb, a
thermometer, weather stripping and a storm window cover.

Science Discovery Festival
Chancellor Livingston Elementary School, Knollwood Rd, Rhinebeck
Saturday, Nov. 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Virtual heart surgery, making ice cream with liquid nitrogen, and a simulated trip into space will
be some of the activities presented to students and their families at the Discovery Festival, Nov.
1, at Chancellor Livingston Elementary School in Rhinebeck.

The Festival, open to students of all ages, has been created by the Rhinebeck Science
Foundation to demonstrate how exciting and diverse science can be. The Foundation, founded
last year by Rhinebeck residents, seeks to enhance science education in the school district.
