 The library is celebrating the centennial of its existence as a chartered library on May 24, 2008. There will be festivities all day long, with vendors and entertainment from noon to 4:00pm, light food and drink provided by the Rhinecliff Hotel starting at 7:00pm, and a fundraising fine art auction at 8:30pm. The Conservation Advisory Council, Village Board and Village Highway Department are celebrating Arbor Day by planting 22 trees along East Market and Mill Streets south of the light. The Village Highway Department will be helping by pre-digging holes. Volunteers are needed to plant, stake and mulch the new trees.
