18th Annual Volunteer Neighborhood Litter Cleanup
Saturday, April 26, 2008
7:00 am to 12 pm (litter drop off hours)
Use your own plastic bags. Free drop-off for roadside litter. Choose a section of any road or street within Rhinebeck. You will see the Boy Scouts, The Neighbors Gun Club, and other familiar faces doing a service for your town. Why not get out and join them?
Bring the children…..Smokey The Bear will be visiting us 9am – 10:30 am to celebrate Earth Day. Colorado Blue Spruce Seedlings will be distributed during drop off, while they last.
All bagged litter is to be brought to the Rhinebeck Transfer State/Recycling Facility at 376 Stone Church Road.
The Hudson Valley Green Fair is a major environmentally conscious event, hosting businesses, non-profit organizations and government agencies dedicated to being “Green”. Just in time for Earth Day this show is being held on the beautiful Dutchess County Fairgrounds in historic Rhinebeck, NY.

The Conservation Advisory Council, Village Board and Village Highway Department are celebrating Arbor Day by planting 22 trees along East Market and Mill Streets south of the light. The Village Highway Department will be helping by pre-digging holes. Volunteers are needed to plant, stake and mulch the new trees.
Meet at Crystal Lake Parking area above the Legion Park on Mill Street.

The event is open to children. Children under the age of 14 should be accompanied by an adult.
Please bring a shovel, sledge hammer, and/or small step ladder if you have one
and something to drink.
Pure acoustic music featuring talented local artists.
No registration is required.

The library is celebrating the centennial of its existence as a chartered library on May 24, 2008.
There will be festivities all day long, with vendors and entertainment from noon to 4:00pm, light food and drink provided by the Rhinecliff Hotel starting at 7:00pm, and a fundraising fine art auction at 8:30pm.
